In June 2011, UN-OCHA held a lessons learned workshop with several of the Digital Humanitarian (DH) entities with whom they collaborated with either for Libya or Japan. That workshop pointed towards the creation of nine (9) thematic Communities of Interest (COI) to ensure that future collaboration between traditional humanitarian entities and the DHs could be maximized.
The purpose of the Communities pages is to provide information on the different Communities and an outlet to present products finalized by each respective Community. The Digital Humanitarian Network (DHN) is one of the nine communities.
